About Life Skills Coaching

The life skills advanced coaching course will provide training to a professional competence level in areas such as: counselling basics, cognitive behavioural therapy, psychoanalysis, coaching and advanced coaching techniques, neuro linguistic programming and self-hypnosis. Combining with information and guidance on  building and using networks and working with other professionals, and the basics of setting yourself up in practice, this provides ther student with all they need to start up in this field.

There are extensive case studies provided in the course in tandem with a detailed explanation of specific topics including stress and anger management, smoking cessation and dealing with emotions. This will enable the student to get a practical appreciation of a range of skills and how they work in relation to typical client problems. The course has also been devised to comply with National Occupational Standards for Counselling.

Award 1 is Life Skills Coaching – Advanced Diploma

Award 2 is Level 4 Life Skills Coaching – Advanced Award
At the end of this course successful learners will also receive a Level 4 NCFE Award Certificate of Achievement. Our course has been accredited under our NCFE IIQ Licence and the course measurable learning outcomes have been benchmarked at Level 4 (using Ofqual’s Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF) level descriptors) to allow you to consider the depth of study, difficulty, and level of achievement involved.

What Are Your Study Options?

We aim to provide flexible, convenient arrangements for our students, so you can study through two methods:
Traditional paper-based;
Online study provides quick access to course material and enables you to submit question papers to your tutor, and receive feedback and results, through your personal online student account. The online system also gives access to course material instantly.
Study Hours
We can only approximate the time it takes to complete a course at it will largely depend on your speed of learning and assimilation plus how often and how much time you can dedicate to study. You also need to complete a question paper after each lesson and these normally will take 1 – 2 hours.
The approximate amount of time required to complete the course is: 250 hours.

Learner Support And Assessments

This course provides unlimited access to your a personal tutor who will be a specialist in the field you are studying. Their role is to make sure you get appropriate and constructive feedback and to answer your questions and provide guidance on areas you are not sure about. You can contact them by phone, email or fax.
We also have a team of course advisors and administrators who will give you friendly and relevant advice on issues relating to your course and study. We will always try to make you feel like you’re not by yourself and that someone will help you if you get into difficulties with anything.

Assessment Method
There are question papers set after each session; these have to be completed and sent to your tutor to mark. Continuous assessment like this means that your progress is monitored regularly and that any problems or difficulties are identified and addressed as early as possible.

On completion of this course students can apply for membership to the Society for Holistic Therapists and Coaches (SHTC), a professional body who are dedicated to recognised standards of qualification and practice – students will also be able to use the initials 'SHTC' after their names.
