About Our Joint Professional Life Coaching and Counselling Course

Our life coaching course covers the detail of the Counselling 1995 National Occupational Standards and features additional material on the 2007 NOS Revision. It is accredited by the Society of Holistic Therapists and Coaches (SHTC) for professional practitioner membership and provides diploma qualification jointly in Life Coaching and Counselling. Personal coaching, basic counselling, Gestalt counselling, psychodynamic theory, humanistic theory, cognitive behavioural theory and essential counselling skills are included in the course.

The course also covers some specific issues such as anger management, dealing with stress, weight control, giving up smoking, emotional problems and work with groups and couples. The techniques used to deal with issues include autogenic, visualisation and relaxation techniques. Practical training direct from SHTC is also offered as an option.

Start your own business as a life coach. Successful completion of this course could enable you to start and run your own business offering life coaching and earn anything from £65 to £500/hour*.

At the end of this course successful learners will also receive a Level 5 NCFE Award Certificate of Achievement. Our course has been accredited under our NCFE IIQ Licence and the course measurable learning outcomes have been benchmarked at Level 5 (using Ofqual’s Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF) level descriptors) to allow you to consider the depth of study, difficulty, and level of achievement involved.

What Are Your Study Options?

We aim to provide flexible, convenient arrangements for our students, so you can study through two methods:
Traditional paper-based;
Home study provides quick access to online course material and enables you to submit question papers to your tutor, and receive feedback and results, through your personal online student account. The online system also gives access to course material instantly.
Study Hours
We can only approximate the time it takes to complete a course at it will largely depend on your speed of learning and assimilation plus how often and how much time you can dedicate to study. You also need to complete a question paper after each lesson and these normally will take 1 – 2 hours.
The approximate amount of time required to complete the course is: 320 hours.

Learner Support And Assessments

This course provides unlimited access to your a personal tutor who will be a specialist in the field you are studying. Their role is to make sure you get appropriate and constructive feedback and to answer your questions and provide guidance on areas you are not sure about. You can contact them by phone, email or fax.
We also have a team of course advisors and administrators who will give you friendly and relevant advice on issues relating to your course and study. We will always try to make you feel like you’re not by yourself and that someone will help you if you get into difficulties with anything.

Assessment Method
There are question papers set after each session; these have to be completed and sent to your tutor to mark. Continuous assessment like this means that your progress is monitored regularly and that any problems or difficulties are identified and addressed as early as possible.
