Animal carers may examine welfare environments, ensure that once an owner no longer wants his pet that they are passed on or sold to someone who will love and care for them. Another avenue is for people who wish to or want to set up their own pet walking or grooming businesses.

This course gives you an all-inclusive and all the knowledge of animal care, covering the hands-on, scientific, legal and ethical characteristics of caring for animals. Once you have completed and passed this course you will be able to:

Understand the main needs of an animal

Devise suitable feeding plans

Learn how to set up suitable accommodation

Handle animals in the correct way

Administer basic first aid procedures

Identify signs of ill health

Recognise normal and abnormal behaviours
